Killing the doe don't hurt nothin, it's the loud ass booom that causes problems The boom don't bother them at all from what I have seen they just look around and then back to business as usual. I'm not saying it eliminates your chances, I'm saying it doesn't help. How many mature public land bucks have you seen come waltzing in right after your shot? I've seen deer run like hell when a twig snaps, and I've seen them stand there and go back to eating after you shoot their buddy. We can't predict what they will do, but we know that a good percentage of the time, run like hell is a probable option.
