I was just sitting around a lil bit ago and was think about my son's rifle I am putting together. Abolt 270wsm. Leupold vx 3 3.5 x10x50. I was looking out in the back yard and was think man this is not close to the scope that my Schmidt & bender is. I go get it out of the safe and I see my dad's Weatherby with an bushnell 4200 2.5x10x50. So I think I'll see what this looks like also. I haven't hunted with it much after he died. It's as bright or brighter than the s&b. Any of yall have one? Is the newer 6500 better?

I have a 4200 4x16x50 AO. I love mine. It's clear and bright. Never given me a lick of trouble. It's on a weatherby 270 WSM and matches up well. I've had it about 10 years.

A used 4200 is the best bargain in optics. I don't like the super zooms because they make use of a smaller exit pupil even on the lowest magnification.

I got a 4200 4x16x50 on my A bolt micro 308. It's as good of a scope as one could ask for. I just wish it had an illuminated reticle like all my other scopes.

Have couple of 3200s and 4200s and an old Bausch and Lomb elite 3000 that was their precursor. Great optics that will compete with much higher priced scopes.

One of the best deals ever on a scope was the Bausch and laumb/bushnell 3200 5-15x50. Bear basin had them for around 250.00 for years.
Yes, good scopes.

Just put a new 8-32x40 on my new 7 mag last week. I love it so far. MSRP is $835, Amazon has them for $399.

They can't be beat for the $. The 4200 is now just called the Elite. The 3200 is a step down, equal to a nikon buckmaster. I compared my 4200 to a nikon monarch i had and its better to my eyes. My 40mm elite is almost as bright as my 50mm Weaver super slam.

I've had one on my squirrel gun for 10 years. Great scope and never a problem.

I have had an elite 3200 3x9x50 for about 15 years and I have a newer nikon monarch 4x16x50 and I think the bushnell has better low light performance at the same magnification than the Nikon.

The newer 6500 track well, and are comparable to a Leupold M4. Friend has a 6500 Bushnell 2.5x16x50 Mil-dot on a custom 6.5 STW. We have shoot it out to 1600 yards several times. Always returns to zero at 100. I have only sean it in daylight=no low light but as I said seams on par with Leupold Mark 4 in glass quailty and at 800-900 dollars will save u money over Mark 4 thumbup

Shooters I saw on eBay where Simmons in Bessemer sold several 6500's back at years end for around $500 for the 2.5x16x50 mil dot. Man it sure was hard to not buy one for that.

That sounds like a good deal. my friend got 1 when they were new. I think SWFA runs them for 750 or so. Like i said. I cant say what they will do in the low light, BUT they track well and glass seams good! I like the 2.5x16x50. i would buy one IF someone other than SWARO made a 2x16x56 with a lighted reticle

I just saw a bushnell elite 3200 10x40 fixed for sale. What would be an "I can't pass this up price" and how practical is a fixed 10power scope. I've never used a fixed power.

Those scopes are about the cheapest elites .always on sale. I wouldn't want it for hunting. I highly recommend the firefly reticle in a 4200 elite. It's thick even when not glowing.
