Bullet went through so fast it didn't have time to expand. can be true. There are certain bullet heads that expand better and have reliable expansion only in certain range of FPS. What are the best gun myths you've heard?
Example, bullets rise when they come out of the barrel, a _____ is a good brush gun, it'll shoot right through bushes, etc. And a round will rise then flatten out then begin to descend once it lose energy Saving this one. 
Take your kids hunting instead of hunting your kids.
