a 30/30 is a good "brush" gun because it can shoot thru brush.
I was shooting at a pig in a TiTi Swamp and bullet hit a twig about the size of 3 round tooth picks that was about 20 ft in front of barrel, Pig I was aiming at was 15 yards, pig I hit was almost 30 yards beyond the one I aimed at, I didn't even know he was there. Bullet....30/30 with open sights, deflected off twig, went over intended Pig and clipped the backbone of unfortunate in the wrong place at wrong time pig.
Hunt'em hard when they are hard to hunt but never, ever hardly hunt!

Bullet went through so fast it didn't have time to expand. can be true. There are certain bullet heads that expand better and have reliable expansion only in certain range of FPS. What are the best gun myths you've heard?
Example, bullets rise when they come out of the barrel, a _____ is a good brush gun, it'll shoot right through bushes, etc. And a round will rise then flatten out then begin to descend once it lose energy A bullet can not come out of a perfectly horizontal gun and go up. The muzzle has to be pointed at an upward angle to do so. It's the line of site , it's adjustable, usually going below the line of the bullet close in, then as the bullet looses velocity it falls below the line of sight at distance.

That a 300WIN MAG will only drop 6in at 1000yds. And is serious about it. Talking ballistics with him is not somewhere you want to go.

That someone heard the bullet hit the deer. Thats not a myth . . . . . .their position in relation to the shooter and the deer is important though.

A bullet does rise because your line of sight is higher than the bore. So you ARE aiming the gun UP to your line of sight. Right? Huh. Yeah. Huh. Yeah. Huh. YES!
