The scope is on top and the barrel is on the bottom. The gun doesn't move. So the bullet travels up to the scopes line of sight. Unless y'all think the scope goes down and meets the bullet. Listen.......... I just heard somebody shoot and hit a deer instead of a pine tree. Lol

That someone heard the bullet hit the deer. I've heard them hit stuff before maybe it wasn't a deer but you can hear the bullet impact. You can definetly hear an arrow hit
We will burn that bridge when we get there

People routinely taking 500-700 yd shots
People routinely taking head shots on deer. I almost always kill does with head shots. Me too.

What are the best gun myths you've heard? 1. A .308 isn't a good round for game bigger than deer. 2. 9mm isn't a good self defense round. 3. The American people don't need semi-automatic rifles. 4. You can't hunt effectively with an AR platform. 5. Open carry deters criminals. 6. Concealed carry makes you safe. 7. AK-47's aren't accurate. 8. Banning handguns would lower crime rates. 9. This gun I'm selling was a "safe queen". 10. I don't need any more guns than I already own.

My paw paws brothers moms youngest son can shoot a model 12 faster than Leroy can shoot that 1100 semi auto. I'll take bets on me unloading my Sportsman 12 pump over an 1100 any Day!!

Ok let's dive into this.
Here's the scenario, and we have all probably been in this one.
You are sitting in a shooting house on a greenfield. Your buddy is in another shooting house say 1/2 (7 or 800 yards) mile away.
He shoots a doe with a high powered rifle.
You know after hearing the shot if he hit the deer or not?
Maybe my hearing is bad, but I can't distnguish the difference in that scenario.

I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

Yes, but you don't know what he hit (deer, tree, water). Lots of trees get hit, but I do know the sound y'all are talking about. We shoot a 44mag rifle a lot and it makes a hell of a pop when it hits my metal sign target from 100 yards.

I tend to have very good hearing when it comes to hunting, I can hear the slightest little noise. but I've never been able to "hear the bullet hit the deer" when someone else shoots, even when other people say they did hear it when one of the guys at our place shoots. like someone said above, I'd be willing to bet the direction the shooter was shooting in relation to you would make or break hearing the impact

I've never heard my bullet hit a deer Shoot one with a 45-70 at 150 yards. You won't be able to make this statement again B/c of slow moving bullet? Because of big, heavy, slow moving bullet...about 2000fps. BUT, I've heard bullet impact on deer with my son's .270 when I was about a half mile down the way from him and have heard it from unknown shooters in the distance too.
