So last week i did a midday hunt and around 1pm and I seen a pretty 7 point with a doe they were only about 30 yards from me and stayed for 55 mins. The rules on this lease is 6 point or better so he was legal to shoot but not a wall hanger so I let him walk so he could be a stud next year. He was so close I took a 10 min video .Well heres my Delma I showed some members what I saw and they all agreed its a nice deer but he'd be a monster next .So I'm like ok were all on the same page to not to shoot him or let a kid shoot it .Well that afternoon one of thos members went right to where I said he was and shot it.when 4 hours ago he was saying don't shoot it. Well It rubbed me the wrong way when he came back.I said good job shook his hand and walked away biting my lip. It was 200 lbs deer so he was all like he's so huge I had to shoot it. Everyone telling him good job like he's the ol mighty hunter when he snaked us.

So next time do I just go by the rules we have here and shoot every 6 point I see or become a lier and tell everyone I seen nuthing . It's sucks that u can't tell your so called friends what you seen that hunt. I like to share my hunts with them I take videos of almost everything I see and show them the videos.

I woulda just looked at him funny while shaking his hand saying, "Congrats. Shooter next year, right?". Not much you can do it about that other than keeping your mouth shut about buck sightings. Just goes to show some guys have no idea how to hunt and just want to mooch.

No way that deer is close to 200 lbs. Thats some pretty crapy behavior from that guy, but I agree, just don't say anything.

If the buck was within the club/state rules there is nothing you can say. Just don't tell them anything about seeing a buck next time.

So the scale said 275 was way off so someone hung on it say it was 70 lbs off that how they got that number of 200 looked about 160

All in all I say he's a 3 1/2 year old right

If the guy would have said it needed shot when you showed him it would still be bad unless you told them to have at it. If it was 3 days later it would be a different story but that afternoon is crappy. Sounds like he didn't say he thought it needed shot because he wanted a chance at it. I tell everything I know to the other members but there is just 4 of us and I would be happy to see any of them kill a deer. Where you hunting the evening as well?

He did you a favor. Consider it a lesson learned. I have no problem with sharing info if I'm not going to be hunting the rest of the season or if someone's trying to get meat in the fridge. But it's a different game when it comes to antlered deer I want to see next year. You can't be honest with some folks when it comes to fishing and hunting. Just the way it is.

Looks like you have a 160 and a 145 on camera to me. I wouldn't show a soul those pics, and I damn sure wouldn't tell anybody I saw a deer again.

IMO, he looks like a 2.5 year old. I shot one at the beginning of season that looked just like this one. Weighed about 165. I'm no professional though. I agree with the others, next time just keep quiet about what you see. Also I would keep those trail pics to yourself if you haven't already showed those guys pictures of the nice ones.

I would just not tell anyone about the deer.

Those deer are the kind of deer I wouldn't tell my best friend I about until they were on the ground and dead. Bucks of a lifetime and that's not exaggerating. Do NOT tell a soul about them.

I would never tell what I saw. If someone takes it the wrong way, just tell the truth. Say last time I told you idiots what I saw you went and killed it within hours. Or, tell them you saw a nice buck over near such and such field and gar hole him.

Folks that do that to people are selfish and lazy. Screw 'em.

Yes I was hunting that afternoon and some have seen those pics just because I had to justify my reason for Leting the younger bucks walk.
