heat pump technology has come a long way. The new, high efficiency units do an excellent job. My son is in the HVAC business and installed my unit a few years ago. I had lp gas heat and it was about to break me.
My unit has a variable speed fan and high SEER. Can't really tell the difference between gas heat and heat pump except my nose and sinuses don't stay dried out all winter and the fact that I'm saving a whole lot of money!
