For that to happen several significant events have to occur in succession, such as, someone turned sixteen, a surcharge for an expensive claim that kicked in at renewal, vehicle safety rating changed, or a number of things. You would have to be very unlucky for that to have happened. Someone in your agent's office should be able to tell you why. Sometimes a discount falls off because a name or address didn't match up in the system and either the auto team or payment team needs a remark to have the discount re-applied. Feel free to pm me and I will try to help you as best as I can. Hang in there, I have actually seen some homeowners rates decrease lately!

Brandon is a good guy. He has looked at my vehicle policy real well and is in the process of looking over my homeowners. He was straight up and told me that my vehicle policy would be hard to beat.

I've had it with Sucks Farm as well. I had one claim in the last 7 years and it jumped from $52/mo to $92/mo after that, loss of accident free discount etc they said. Just got a notice that it's going up an additional $12 to $104/mo on a truck that's 8 yrs old and only gets driven for hunting/chores as I have a company vehicle for work. I'm looking to move on, I've been with them since I turned 16, 43 now.

Have heard State Farm will give you trouble when you have consecutive claims in set period of time most carriers do! That being said without claims hear no one can beat their rates over time. There are things they refuse to issue policies on in different areas. Hurricane and Tornado's have been a game changer in their markets for South. All companies keep writing exclusions in their policies so you had better check and make sure you get same coverage as you move to different carriers. Make sure you are getting what you need not what they want you to have for the $$$ you spend. Agent sure makes a big difference too? Not an agent just fyi!

I've tried other companies and always go back to State Farm. Two things: As stated above, the agent makes a huge difference. Second thing is you've got a fellow aldeer guy willing to look into helping you. I'd let him.

central ala,
All I know is Liberty Mutual is the worse business of ANY kind I have ever dealt with!! I have never sued over $$ but they have until Feb. 23 and I'm turning it over to an attorney. Its not even a substantial amount of $$ but they owe it and only a judge or jury is gonna tell me any different.

Like others have said the agent makes a lot of difference. I dropped state farm and went with another company that was cheaper, for a while, then they went up higher than SF. Checked around and went with a SF agent i had years ago and he was cheaper than anyone. Have had a couple of claims with him and they paid quickly and fairly. The premiums did go up some after a fairly high claim but still not as high as others are.

I've used Alfa, Geico, and Metlife all with good results. Currently using Metlife because the beat the fire out of everybody else on auto/homeowners for me. Fortunately, I've never had to claim anything other than a windshield or a tow. I agree with what others have already said...get with an agent that you can trust.

forget about building a relationship with your insurance man. Ive found that every company gets expensive after a while and you have to find a new one.

the agent model isn't broken. how often do you communicate with your accountant, doctor, dentist, lawyer, pastor. banker, financial planner, benefits manager at work, etc.? regularly? when things change? get divorced and you will see them all!! seems only natural to find someone that you can build a rapport with and visit and review with at least once a year. things change. the agent can and will help you but the agent doesn't know whats changed unless you tell him. to me, property, income, retirement and family are the most valuable assets anyone can have. protecting them with advice and input from a person you have a rapport and relationship with would be paramount. FWIW, my cell number is on my business card. does your guy do that? kind of like that fishing commercial, "i know a guy". if not find someone that will give their cell number. who knows, you might already have that person. go see them. and you will both feel better. again, I'll be glad to assist or give y'all the questions to ask "your guy" (or girl) or ideas to save money without compromising coverage. peace of mind is a good thing, especially when you tote guns, climb trees, ride atvs, etc. 45 minutes for a year's worth of peace....and save money? pretty good deal. the agent model is very healthy. insurance is just a bill every month, until you need it. and when that happens, have the cell number of your guy to be there. i can tell ya who i wont be going to see this year.....taxidermist!!
