Great year for me. I killed a real good 8, and a coyote and a bobcat, Also a doe opening morning of bow season. My daughter and I killed a 7 point, I let her pull the trigger, her first time being part of harvesting a deer. Wife got her first deer and ended up taking 2 does, I was setting with her on her first. My sons gf got her first deer also. First season after my fathers death and feel like he was there helping us along the way. Also let at least 5 or 6 bucks walk that was 6 point or better. Ready for next season already

Best hunting season thus far in my life. Got to experience my son killing his first deer, I tok a good buck in Kentucky, a doe in Tenn, and a doe in Alabama. I got to see some pretty good deer in Alabama but it just never worked out.

As far as seeing good bucks I had a great year. Killing them was my worst ever. I shot 4 good bucks that I didnt recover. 3 with bow and one with a sluggun. Did end up killing two bucks with a bow and one with the sluggun. Also missed a big deer with a bow. My highlight of the year was being with my kids when they killed their deer. My 11 year old dauther killed a doe. It was her first with a gun. My son killed a nice buck with a gun and a spike on feb. 9 with his bow. After his near fatal atv accident in june it was a blessing just to able to hunt with him. Putting him on a deer was a challenge the first part of the season with him not being able to climb. Take your kids hunting every chance you get because you never know how quick life can change and them not be there to go with you.

Worst season I remember. Not from a seeing standpoint, because I saw as many deer overall as usual, and probably saw 25 (+,-) decent racked bucks, but I've never had a year when so many bizarre things happened to save a deer's life! LOL I have named it "Murphy's Law Deer Season". It's the first season in maybe 20 years that I didn't kill a buck (or at least the first season that I didn't ride one in the back of the truck, I'm not real sure if I killed one or not). I don't have the time to tell each story, but some of them are almost unbelievable, you'd swear I was making them up. Just as an example, twice this year I climbed a tree and didn't like it once I got up, so I quickly got down and moved, only to have a shooter walk under that first tree (first time it occured I was actually on the ground by the new tree and the buck ran in and stood under the first tree, and I'm 75 yards away holding my bow).

Not good at all. I hunt 15 acres of private land that is joined by TVA on one side and on the other private land was logged 1.5 years ago. All the deer were nocturnal. This may be due to the high pressure on the TVA land. I have killed one decent buck there in 5 years. I might see a doe and 1 yearling a year. That is normally on trail cams. As far as rut activity, I don't see any scrapes or rubs until late December. It has always been the last few days of January if I see any rutting going on. If I remember correctly deer from South Alabama was relocated to the area where I hunt. So it might just be time to move on even if there are ok bucks on the cams. Hard to want to hunt if you see 2-3 deer a year and them being spikes and 4 points.

our best year in five years both for deer harvest and seeing deer. After not taking a buck for the last 4 years, very fortunate to take a doe and a 8 pt. in Perry county and an 8 point on our place in Butler county in February. I saw more deer last two weekends in Butler county than I have seen in total for the last five there. At both of the places we hunt we saw large groups of does late in the season, groups of 6 or more that seemingly were of all ages and had not been thinned out at all during the hunting season. Hunting is just what it is, hunting. Some years are just going to be better than others. That's why it's called hunting and not shooting. Enjoy it all.

Not as well as I had hoped, but I got to sit in a tree a lot and enjoy the outdoors. It was to short for me. But only have to wait 4 more weeks to be back out.

Even though I didn't get any deer, it was my best season ever!

It also was my first season ever.

I had fun, learned somethings along the way, learned things to do next season (and things NOT to do), and got lots of practice sitting quiet in a tree.

Awesome season for me. I got to take my 4 year old hunting for the first time. We saw 3 does and a six point. He wasn't totally into it but I am taking him back this weekend to try for some squirrels and raccoons. He really wants to raccoon hunt for some reason. I think I'll set the coon trap and see if we can come up with a bandit.

Killed two does with the bow, 2 does with the gun, and 2 10 points with the gun. The firs 10 was a 5-1/2 year old and actually regressed from last year. He never met our expectations as we have been watching him for 4 years. The second 10 point got my blood flowing as I grunted him in. Ground checked him and he definitely had some ground shrinkage as I grabbed those antlers. I saw more bucks this year than I have ever seen and that is saying something. I let several nice deer walk this year and that will, hopefully, pay dividends in the future. I let three deer nicer than the ones I killed walk so hopefully they will stick around.

5-1/2 year old 10 point

4-1/2 year old 10 point

It was a decent year, with another taxidermist bill and meat in the freezer. Most of all it was safe and enjoyable season for me.

Great year.

I killed 2 bucks both over 125". They are two of my 4 biggest bucks ever. My hunting buddy, who hadn't shot a buck in ~11 years, killed his biggest ever (132" 10pt). The buck he killed was one I was after pretty heavy and was shot 1 mile from his home area. Between his deer and one of mine, we killed the top two bucks on my hit-list. The #3 buck on the list, I saw on two occasions but didn't get a shot.

Almost as important as what we got this season, is what we should begin next season with. The season ended with the next 4 bucks on the hit-list still alive and roaming. Next season looks even more promising.

As an added bonus, I put Mom on a nice 8 that is her biggest buck ever.

Besides dealing with chronic crybabys ,All out haters, and 3rd grade drama queens season was awesome.Killed 3 does with a bow and 1 buck,1 doe with muzzleloader, and 3 does with rife and 2 bucks with a rifle,0 misses and 0 deer not recovered.
Youth weekend i put my niece on 2 does and 1 decent 7 point.
Seen enough deer to fill a walmart parking lot just let a ton of deer walk.these were 2 of the ones i killed in january.Didnt hunt at all from nov 31 to january 12th.
Heres the 2 bucks i killed.2nd was 23 inch outside spread.

Took this pic after i killed the last buck,he was walking down the ridge to the far left circling around to stage up behind the food plot.smoked him right at 300 yards
