I've also heard the army worms are tough on it . I have heard that too, but we had armyworms in the bermuda hay field beside the alfalfa last year 3 different times and they never to my knowledge got into the alfalfa. Not trying to be argumentative just stating what I've seen with mine.

Army worms typically don't prefer legumes like soybeans or alfalfa. They can build up high enough but they prefer monocots like Bermuda or corn or millet over legumes.

MY field goes dormant when we get some low 20's for a few nights. I don't know about the varieties for LA, but the variety I planted probably would grow all winter down south.
But if I lived down south I'd be hard pressed not to sprig perennial peanuts Any idea on the cost to sprig perennial peanuts? Only info I found online was for ornamental varieties that produce seeds.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Look at alfagraze 600 it's round up ready and it can be no tilled in with a burn down on field before you drill it. It's for the southeastern u.s.its for the southeastern u.s.
