Thinking about yall right now! I bet that youngster is excited. I pray the birds run out of breath gobbling this morning and a strutter walks in putting on a show for him and he is able to spin that gobblers noggin.
Best of luck

Sorry for not getting back to everyone yesterday, but we didn't get back in until late last night. This was the most unsuccessful / successful hunt I have ever been on. We didn't hear or see any turkeys, and only saw a couple of old tracks. BUT we could all learn a great lesson from this young man. He just got a cast off of one leg that had a pin and three screws in it not 2 weeks ago, and he was determined to get out of his wheelchair and walk this entire hunt. We circled probably 240 acres, blind called a few times and he smiled and jiggled the whole way. At one point he even said that he was happy to just hear someone actually calling and not just watching it on TV. After the morning hunt, we threw the football, rode all types of carts, and ate everything not nailed down. At about 10:45, he was surprised by family from out of state that came to see him on his big hunt and they brought a new to them seadoo, so we had to go to Wiess lake and ride that thing in out hunting clothes. I bet we looked like a bunch of gooduns, but he was having fun. We tried one more little round on another place of theirs, but no luck. You could tell that they had birds, but looked like they had moved on to other places, all old sign. We ended the day, by stopping by a gun shop and letting him hold and try every gun in the store. If only I was made of money, I promise he would have walked out with his own 20ga. that day. But the moral of the story is that he made the best of every situation and truly seemed to just enjoy everything about God's great creation. I'm already trying to put together plan B,C and D. Thanks again for everyones' prayers, they were truly answered. God Bless, Heath

HHSyelper, can you please put a little story on here about this young man and what's going on and how you came across helping him? Two years ago, my fiance at the time came down with leukemia and a lot of folks on here donated money and participated in some fundraising stuff I started to help her and her two kids. She didn't beat it and is off to better places, but I won't forget how much support complete strangers gave me and her. I'll be the first one to say if you want to start a fund to get this kid His own shotgun and some new gear, I've got the first 100 ready to go. I think the mods on here can get you set up with a thread that'll stay up top. I'm guessing we can get a couple grand in short order by the end of the day. Just tell me how to send the money and great job for giving him a distraction and something to look forward to and let's get him that 20 guage!!!

I'm in! Post up a place for the donations to be sent!
HSS thanks for what you did/are doing for the young man!
I'm on the complete opposite corner of the state from you or I know what plan B would be!

I'm in for a donation as well. I also have a place close to Weiss Lake for turkey hunting. I've never put a foot on it but I'd be willing to help make plan B happen if we can work out the details.
