Since I am off next week and I do not have my own land, I thought about going to Hollins Management area to hunt. Can any of you guys give me some tips or advice on what areas to focus on or avoid? I've never hunted here before so I am not familiar with the layout. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Turkey hunters don't post advice on where to kills birds on a public forum for all to see. I would focus on the area inside the management area ![wink wink](/forum/images/graemlins/default/wink.gif)

same fellas Tidefan. If it was you asking in person you "might" get a straight answer. On an open forum for everyone in the world(literally) to see?? Ain't happening.

I, and 99% of real turkey hunters, would disagree with your statement of "absurd".
Don't need the whole world to show, just 4-5 wannabe turkey hunters could easily screw up the hunting.

So people are worried about the "world" showing up and hunting their spot? That's absurd. "Absurd" my ass. No one is going to spend their time and energy scouting and learning an area, just to pass that information on to someone whose idea of "scouting" is to ask on a public forum. Regardless if the "world" finds out, it only takes a couple people passing on said information to a couple buddies to turn that spot into a damn cluster F.
Yeah, well, I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas: sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-bitches.

I doubt all of the people on this forum had to find these spots on their own. Ditch the attitude & hang out here a little while longer & you'll discover that -- YES -- they did find a lot of these spots on their own.

When I hunted Hollins a lot I found every bird and spot on my own by walking it out. Nobody gave me a spot or bird.

I've been on this forum longer than most. I just don't post a lot. I never got an attitude until I asked for a little help. But attack the guy that started out looking for assistance...not for the way he was treated but for the way he reacted. I'm not attacking you, man. I see you've been registered since '01, but ... Let me guess, you're new to turkey hunting, right? You might consider this approach in the future 'cause you've kinda hosed yourself up now, but -- 1) ditch the attitude, 2) humble yourself & admit that you need help, 3) offer something IN RETURN for getting some help. Just an idea ... for next time. BGD

here's a copy/paste from a previous thread about why we're not quick to just "give away" info on public land... Tell you what dipshit, I have spent I'd guess around 300 gallons of fuel finding spots out there, and if you tally up my time at 30$ an hour, I'd say I have somewhere around $20,000 worth of fuel and time wrapped up out there. You pay me $2k a spot and I'll send it to you...

Absurd may be the wrong word. I guess absurd should be used towards myself for actually thinking this forum was full of good, well meaning people that are good hearted and like to help folks. Should have known better. It's the world we live in...full of left wingers and ass holes. Man, I can't believe somebody who hunts hollins didn't post up some GPS coordinates for you. What a day and age we live in that people would expect a grown man to get a map, look at Google earth and go listen for a gobbling turkey.
