I hear you; you're not hearing me. Owl hooting is owl hooting; crow calling is crow calling; creeks are creeks; pastures are pastures.

I can't believe someone with over two decades worth of hunting experience wouldn't just love the challenge of going onto a piece of land that they've never hunted, to enjoy the experience of figuring the land out. Maybe I'm just different, but I love the curve balls that new land presents.

You just don't sound like a hunter to me.

Cyberscouting should be a ban-able offense.

I hear you just fine. You are right about the owls being owls and etc...But what you aren't hearing is I am going in for one day. Not all season. Not 20 years. I don't want to spend my one day (you can't hunt past 1 at Hollins) scouting and walking in on people. I'm not trying to prove my worth as a hunter to you. I don't have to. I know a crow is a crow but in Butler county where I hunted for 20 years (whether you believe it or not) there were tons of crows. I didn't need to use a crow call. They did it for me. I come from hunting with guys my whole life who would help you in any way they can. From that perspective, you don't seem like much of a hunter to me.

I thought you said you had the week off? Oh well, good luck to you, buddy, and Roll Tide Roll.

Check out my YouTube channel sometime, and my posts on Team Noob on OG. I'm helping dozens of guys; in fact, one guy is winning a tournament over in GA based off help I'm giving him, and last year a COMPLETE NEWBIE to turkey hunting tagged out on PUBLIC LAND, based on my help/assistance to him.

I do have the week off. I also said my wife would have plans for me too...those include going to visit her dad for a few days. I'm also going to hunt with my uncle. I'm so very happy you had success in helping this guys. Did you blind fold them when you took them in so they wouldn't get on the internet and tell the world where you hunt??? hahaha

Thanks for the offer. I am not going on Saturday because I think it will be more crowded. I am going one day next week...just not sure which day. Depends on the weather. I truly appreciate the offer though!

Actually, you want to hear the God's-honest truth? Most guys I help have a hunger so dang deep, they can't stand it, and they bring me their Google Maps, scouting reports, poop/track/feather/strut sign locations, etc. & just ask me what I think. I give simple, direct advice that apparently works. They don't ask me to carry their gun, tell 'em where to park, change their tampons, etc. They're grown men, who want to kill a bird, and so I help 'em.

I have gone hunting with a few of them, to "confirm" their reports, but ... That's what I'm trying to say; these guys are HUNTERS, even if some of them are complete newbies & going in totally fresh on a piece of land...

Ask Michael256 if I'm willing to help another hunter or not. But, somebody with your stinkin' attitude & sharp tongue can pound sand in the parking lot of public land, for all I care.

I will gladly "pound sand" before I would hunt with you. It's because of your sarcasm and your piss poor attitude that I got a "sharp tongue" to start with. Now I see what the other poster meant when he said what he said about you publically...not to mention the PM's from others. If you don't want to help, don't. But don't try to act like you have been trying this whole time and are now the victim. You pick and choose one or two sentences out of all of these to build your argument around. I do have a desire and hunger...but I do not have time right now. I am going one day next week. Not the whole week. Not 2 or 3 days. 1 day. I wasn't asking you to by my guide and put me on a bird. I wanted to know where it was congested or what to avoid. All I was asking was for some friendly advice. But I guess the friendly part ruled you out from the start.

actually, you got a "sharp tongue and piss poor attitude" well before BGD ever stepped foot into this thread.

assuming you truly were only looking for general info about things like what calls do they like best or stuff like that, then you made (2) mistakes:

1) you worded your post the worst possible way, by specifically asking about places

2) you immediately went on the defensive and got pissy with the same folks from whom you were requesting help.

I'd suggest dropping back to punt on this thread, enjoying your day of hunting, and let this one die. Somehow, though, I don't think you will.

1) How else am I supposed to know where the bulk of hunters go so I can avoid them if I don't ask about locations? I never once said "where do you hear the most birds or where have you killed the most." Maybe if questions were asked of me in response rather than assuming, this could have been avoided.

2) At what point do you say I got pissy? Was it after a smart ass response from someone else? I would think so. Do you have an example?

Thank you for your suggestion. I do plan on enjoying my day(s) of hunting, including my one day on the WMA. I had planned on letting this die last night but today the responses keep on coming. I'm not going to stop responding to people who are directly calling me out or questioning me. You didn't let it die either.

What you are doing is cyberscouting plain and simple.

You aren't thinking about this clearly.

If someone was to answer your question on what was congested and what to avoid. They didn't just tell you - they told everyone that lurks this site for information. Now what wasn't congested most certainly will be in short order. And it screws all those hunters that put the time in to get away from those other people to begin with.

But most of all, there are people reading this that probably also only have one day to hunt next week and they are hoping they can go to the spot they SCOUTED and there not be another truck parked there. Any "helpful tip" you get just might be the piece of info that causes that guy to lose his spot that he worked for.

Frankly, I don't think WMA's should even be mentioned by name on a public forum. Its just attracting attention to a place that other people would not have thought of trying on their own. All the WMA info a man needs is on the DNR site.

If you truly don't realize how you got a pissy attitude way too quick at the beginning of this thread, and you truly don't understand how that killed pretty much any chance you had of getting info from most of these guys here, then there's no way we can make you understand it. It is clearly beyond your comprehension.

Best of luck to you next week, and as someone who has struggled in the past on public land, I really do mean that.

EDIT: Actually nevermind, the more I think about it, no, I don't

So we shouldn't discuss public land on a public forum? I would consider cyberscouting more along the lines of "hey guys, where are they gobbling?" or "where have you seen the most turkeys recently?" Sorry if you were offended but I don't want to walk in on anyone and ruin their hunt. I doubt it that is a big concern for "lurkers" of this site.
