I had a 16ft G3 and hit a river bouy with it at WOT. Brought it to them to have em weld up a few spots and when they pulled the floor up, every rib was cracked. I called 2 days later and they said my boat was ready. I walked in and the dealer told me they didn't make my model anymore 1648, so I'd have to settle for a 1652.... They replaced my hull, all I had to do was swap over all my accessories. As far as motors go I had a 60 2 stroke on that same G3 and after countless hours of running it WOT and hitting stumps, sand bars, every shallow spot on the causeway it finally blew a hole in the block. However I did hobble the 5 miles home on 2 cylinders. Engine was just out of warranty so I went and got a non current 70hp 2 stroke. Yamaha then after a couple of weeks offered to replace my powerhead and in return I had to ship them mine (on their dime) so they could tear it apart and find out why it failed. My G3 also drafts very little water so its great for gigging flounder. So I'm a fan of Yamaha and G3....As my screen name shows!
Shakin the trees and raking the leaves!
