Jake that acts like a grown man....Act like a man, Die like a man!! This... Only difference to that of a grown gobbler would be his fan would still have a few longer & feathers maybe a short beard and spurs but the fan tells the story IMO. He full roll gobbles, struts, sometimes hangs up, etc. Kilt a couple... not ashamed a bit.

Super Jake (noun) - a term used by hunters to make themselves feel better about shooting a young male turkey.
As Yek said, a jake is a jake. They act like young male turkeys trying to learn their position. Some gobble better than others, some are more aggressive. They're just learning.

I called up 3 so far this year on 2 different occasions and have let them go each time. I don't shoot jakes anymore. I use to when I was younger and just starting to turkey hunt. I don't shoot spikes for the same reason.
