That's the time the joy riders came down the mountain at Skyline motor vehicle park... I mean WMA this morning. I don't mind them using the public land to do something they enjoy, but ripping through the creek beds and scaring turkeys at 8:30 is unacceptable. Then flying down the mountains at sharp curves, almost hitting me and forcing me off the road at a steep slope. The ones tearing ace through the creek beds over a mile off the gravel road cost me a bird this morning.

I know this has been said on here before. Something has got to be done. Either make a rule to where they can't come on the place until 12 or 1:00, or ban off road vehicles all together.

I can't believe the state hasn't stopped them by now, sounds like they have a serious problem, I know on the WMA's I hunt that the biologist and wardens would have a fit if they caught you in a creek bed with a ATV or off-road vehicle or behind any gated road, but that's why I am thankful for all the "walk in roads". I think they shouldn't allow any motorized vehicles beyond gates for any reasons on Alabama's WMAs, the hunting is much better with "walk in only road".

I've hunted the WMA quite a bit the past 3 years and have never seen a warden.

That's because there's not enough of them. There's not enough to work all the private land much less the public that they may have in their county. The State keeps buying more that they can't police. But, of course, Forever Wild doesn't cost the taxpayers anything. loco

The problem we have here in Jackson county, and other counties for that matter,is there aren't enough Wardens to go around. With that being said,if they are not breaking laws there is nothing a warden would do anyway.
I have not been to Skyline in years, but last time I was there there was gates up with signs that said no motorized vehicles beyond this point, sounds like they are not respecting the rules.

I would rather be turkey hunting

Most of those signs have been taken down. That was when Jim was over it and planted the plots and took care of the place. Those people are still suppose to have a sign map in their pocket and they could at least enforce that.

This is the reason I don't hunt Skyline anymore, and I always loved hunting up there.

Then you add in lack of birds and inconsiderate turkey hunters and it's a flippin night mare.

Let the EPA know there riding in the creek. You can be fined for that.

I used to always carry some of them "walk in only" signs around with me and put them up on roads going to places I was hunting. It helped some but most of em eventually got tore down.

That's what I've been wanting to do. Where did you get them?

I'm not saying I've done this per say, but loading up an area with no trespassing signs may or may not deter the vast majority of people from an area beers
