How long do you give a bird after a miss to calm down?
It isn't necessary to see a good tackle...you can hear it.

Dano, after my miss Saturday, I was back on my "observation point" (250+ yards away) glassing the area... Hadn't seen a return of the bird yet, but his hens are still in the area...

That joker maybe buried up in a bush somewhere. A lot of turkey die from being "missed". Not saying that's the case but it happens. Now those hens will have another lover before long. May not be him but usually doesn't take to long for one to find them.
Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Time will tell; I'll know if it's a different gobbler; the one I missed had very unique colors on him, esp his fan/tail feathers (besides size/beard length/etc. - I got a good look at him while I was lobbing lead in his direction!) If he ain't dead then he may be good to go later the same day or the next day at most IMO. They ain't near as smart as people think they are, they are just scared of everything. They have short term memory loss too I believe.

If he ain't dead then he may be good to go later the same day or the next day at most IMO X2... I imagine the type of miss is important also. I missed a bird a week ago in the midst of a bunch of lightning - one bold in particular was VERY close. I'd guess (if it was a clean miss) that he figured it was just another bolt. In that type of case, I'd think he's good to go any time.
