Here's your pics Lionsden. That buck in the back looks like he's just skint up and lost some hair.

Ive seen 2 in my 50 years of hunting but never killed one. One was a shooter but I always think of what my grandfather told me once early in my life that the Indians thought them to be spirits and bad luck would follow if you shot one. Don't really believe that but why take a chance.

I've passed several but I won't anymore. We've had 5 killed on my place in the last 10 yrs. I think it needs to be killed out of the herd.

you can't "kill it out of the herd" because all deer that carry the genes don't show the white.....

At the last club I was in, I know of 3 that were killed over a 15 year span. All were in generally the same area which was interesting, and funny enough, all were spikes. I know 2 guys got the hides tanned & use them as rugs, they look really neat.

I've seen lots and lots of deer and never seen one.

Would the ones that show the white be more likely to pass on the gene when bred or does it matter?

My uncle has a full body mount of a small 7 point that probably 75-80% white. Only one I have ever seen dead or alive

Killed one in the late 80s in Barbour county. It was a dwarf 4 pt. buck, not much bigger than a big goat. I think they are more prevalent in an over populated herd. I used to hear of them pretty often, but hardly ever now that deer numbers have declined.

I killed a 150# piebald spike with my bow on my place about 20 years ago. Killed a 7 point piebald on my place with my rifle the following year.

Haven't seen one since killing those two.

Brother killed a really nice 10 pt that had a big white spot on his side. Not sure if that is a piebald or not. The spot was only in the field of the gray about 10"x18". I passed a decent 8 pt in Georgia that was a more typical piebald looking deer.

I have only saw one. It was a small doe killed on the old Butler County Mgmt. Area in about 1976.

Never killed one, but saw my first one in SC around 2004. I had a doe that was more albino than piebald (if there's a difference) come in to my stand right after dark. I had other deer around me and didn't want to climb down. That bitch glowed in the dark, she was so white. The other does already near my tree were aggressively snorting and trying to push her (not literally) the hell out of the area. They did not like her one bit around them.

I killed a 95% white piebald buck several years ago, and had another staying on our place that got killed the last Sat. of season. Had the hide tanned, and its on my son's wall.
