Atoler, where do you need a tow from? I would guess no more than 2 per boat unless we want to make it on an individual basis. Or who cares if we just fish and have fun.

Also, are we wanting to do some kind of trophy to get passed on year after year? If we are, we need to get that in the works now. The place I order our trophys from takes a few weeks and if we do it I'd like to had them out that day. Trophys range from a couple dollars all the way to around 70 for a really nice one.

We will do a panfish tournament and a bass tournament. I do not have a set of scales nor do I have access to any. I do have a set of scales that would weigh an individual fish. We could just do a big fish tournament and that way you wouldn't have to put a limit on the number of people in a boat. On the panfish tournament, we could just go by numbers.

I say you make the trophy some random goofy object like an old boot or rusty tire iron. You know, what most of us will probably catch.

Last time we didn't put a limit on people per boat. Everyone paid $10 or whatever it was individually.

I'm planning to bring some deer burger and sausage in a good quantity like 8lbs of each. I'm also going to bring buns and all the fixings to go on burgers and sausage biscuits. Everyone is welcome to eat whatever we cook. Only thing I'm working on is a portable grill. Mines not all that portable so I'm not sure what I'm doing there yet.

Somebody needs to start a sign up thread. With an actual tournament format including entry fees and payouts. Im all about donating the money to charity or paying it back, just whatever. I do think we should get a trophy for the winner. But we need to set the tournament in stone and if people want to camp and drink beer and eat then have at it.

I can't come that weekend but I'll try to help since we put it together for a few years. First year there was 4 of us and we leaned on the boats and just hung out and fished for fun when we felt like it. The next year we actually had a tourney with 6 or 7 boats and a Bass and Bream division. We launched at safe light and weighed in around 3. The next year we had more folks who just came to hang out so not as many folks fished. It was more of a social gathering. It pretty much stayed that way like Brent mentioned. If you wanted to fish for bragging rights pay 10 bucks and go for it. We's sort it all out at the end of the day. Our policy was if a kid caught a string full of bream from the bank and you caught 100 in your boat he won. It was all about raising a little money and having a good time. Nothing was ever carved in Stone and no one complained ever. As far as nailing down all these rules and posting on here saying "Somebody" should set this part up and "Somebody should do that. It won't happen. Trust me...

Ya'll have done it they way did. Set the date, see who shows up and play it by ear. It's much more fun that way. If you get a handful at the launch early Saturday ready to fish hard. Swap money and go for it. Then get on here and rag the losers for a year. It's so much easier and fun just to go up there and take what comes.

I got a busted prop we can use as a trophy. Just scratch each years winners name on it.

I didn't want to start blasting away at rules and such because I didn't want to offend someone out of coming. I like manglers idea of just waiting to see who shows up and we can figure it all up there before we launch. That way we have an exact head count. It's all gonna be for shits and giggles anyways.

Would yall be opposed to me starting a thread to keep up with boater/non-boater pairings and so forth? That way if someone has a back seat open maybe someone without a boat can join them.

Any one oppose something like that?

I think it's a good idea...especially for the ones that wanna fish and don't have a boat....
