I’ve had to have it out with some of my own family members simply because I asked them to please stop using the word n!##$% in front of my two 5 year old boys.
I had that exact same situation with some of my wife's family several months back. I told them if I heard GomerJr say it, he'd get a warning the first time but after that he'd get his butt tore up and I'd make them watch, knowing it was their fault. That seemed to put an end to it.
