I'll throw another in there. We've had good luck with the Grasshopper zero turn mowers.

Same here. But my Cub Zforce 48 was bought at a Cub Cadet dealer and not at the big box stores.

Kubota with either the Kubota or Kawasaki engine gets my vote.

I'm glad you had good luck but I had a cub cadet with Koehler engine and it was complete garbage. 100 hours on it and it was broke down a total of fifteen times. Also absolutely zero help from dealer or cub cadet.

Glad I'm not the only one that had problems with cub cadet and Koehler, will not buy either one of them again. A Grasshopper mower will be my next purchase.

if your looking for a good deck, dont get a stamped one. if your looking for a good motor get a commercial one. from what I understand the commercial mowers are allowed to have a higher blade speed also. that is why you wont find one at the box stores. I my experience Kohler, kawasaki and briggs and stratton all make excellent motors. they all also make sorry homeowner moters too. what iam saying is that its better to get a cheap commercial mower than a good homeowner one. cub cadet makes cheap commercial mowers that are better than the box store mowers, but are not the best compared to more expensive commercial mowers. In my opinion the hustler raptor seems to bridge the gap between homeowner and commercial the best at least by me looking at it.

My old cub cadet is an 04-05 model, it has 50" deck and 23 hp kohler. It has been a great mower. Just add gas, oil, tires, blades and battery. It's still starts and mows great for me. I have a 1 acre lot.
