Thanks for all of the suggestions! We stopped at Louis Louis on the way in, but they had just closed down after lunch. We went to Baytowne Wharf and ate at Acme Oyster House instead. Good fried seafood and good service despite the afternoon crowd. Last night we went to Stinky's and had an AWESOME dinner! The wait sucked, but it was totally worth it. We're gonna go to The Track to waste some time during the day today since I'm burned and one child is walking funny from 2 days of sand/salt water in the trunks. Hoping that some of your suggestions are close to where we will be for lunch and dinner.
Thanks again!

We're on the way to Sandestin for a few days and need restaurant recommendations. We usually go to Louisiana Lagniappe at least once. We went to Dewey Destin's last time, but I wasn't too impressed. Long wait for mediocre food. I don't mind eating at a hole in the wall dive as long as the food is good. Whatcha got???
Edit: needs to be kid friendly. Take a little drive across the bay and eat at Nick's (on the bay). They catch most of what the serve right there locally. So they are serving about as fresh as you can get. We were there a couple of weeks ago and he was bringing in the crabs from their traps. One of the patrons asked if he would bring one if for his kids to see. It is a hole in the wall place, but their food is really good and they are very hospitable. I don't think you will be disappointed. I'm a local and that's where I prefer to eat seafood. we have been here all week and one of the places we went for the first time was Nicks. It wasn't bad but it wasn't worth the 30 mile drive around the bay to get there. Our best meals have been at Mitchell's, Acme and Pompano Joes. We usually go to Stewby's but we are a little far away this trip.
