I carry a Shield 40. It's been 100% reliable. It fits me better than any of the other small CC size pistols. In 9mm, it holds 2 more rounds than the Glock.
I've never even looked at a 43, but if you want one keep your eyes open in the classifieds. There have been a lot of ppl put them up for sale after they got them.

I'm partial to the glocks but the m&p's are great too. It basically comes down to which one is more comfortable in your hand.

One more small but important difference is that the shield has a stainless slide.
I have sweated on mine all summer without a hint of rust.

I'm partial to the glocks but the m&p's are great too. It basically comes down to which one is more comfortable in your hand. The Glock 17 fits better than any glove I have ever worn. First shot through mine was at about 30 yards at a crow as I was driving across the pasture. He kept watching me so I just took aim and fired. I bet I could not repeat that again in a 100 shots, especially since I never stopped the truck to shoot. I took that as an omen. That is why the 17 is my go to.
I can't stand a thief.
