Don't you think a big cat would avoid human scent, thus no pics. Very few hunters use the proper scent control to get pics of big bucks.

I'd agree with this somewhat. Obviously cats have a superb sense of smell and rumbling around in the woods putting up cameras or checking them, or working on the property, could cause a cat to avoid the area. At the same time, there's a brazillian cameras in the woods throughout the Southeast and we're not seeing many legit photos of big cats.

Friend of mine puts out cameras with different scents nearby to attract coyotes, foxes, raccoons and other critters. He has some pretty cool shots of all those but only a few, I think, of bobcats and none of mountain lions.

I have put off posting this, but here's a picture of one I got here at home.

I,ve told this story before, but about 1980 on Barbour WMA, first gun hunt I had one at 75yards, it was really dry and had seen several deer and heard them coming in the dry leaves, but caught movement behind me and thought it was going to be another deer, slowly turned and got it in scope and saw it jump up on a blown over tree, I knew what it was when I saw the long tail, it made tracks in logging roads that hunting season and none since

Let them hawks pull the heads off of your chickens and you will understand why some people want to shoot them. As far as the panther/cougars go, unless they were harassing livestock I wouldn't have any reason to kill one.
