In a van down by the river......
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

NOTE: I love my Summit Viper SD and it's modded to the hilt BUT ... I like it for rifle hunting, not bow hunting I'm looking for an OPEN FRONT climber for bow hunting ... something like the Lone Wolf S&C maybe don't get the summit open shot. damn thing is a accident waiting to happen. I don't remember the name of it but I have a summit that the front rail drops down for bow hunting. I like it. how much does your viper weigh with all that stuff on it? Why do you say the Open Shot is an accident waiting to happen?I have an older Summit Open Shot that I have bow hunted out of for years. I would think as long as you are tethered to the tree from time you start climbing until you touch back down it wouldn't be any more "accident-likely" than any other stand. Maybe I am missing something? With that said, I have been using an Viper Elite SD, but will probably switch to an XOP this year.

I like it. how much does your viper weigh with all that stuff on it? Thanks for the tip. Not sure of exact weight ... The Molle only adds a pound or two but it distributes the weight like a professional backpack Side bags, front bags, foam fill, foot step, all these things add more weight than the Molle I have the Summit Bushmaster ( http://www.summitstands.com/treestands/c...mmit-bushmaster), it has been discontinued and replaced with the newer models. I have had zero accidents or problems with it. If you wear a harness connected to the tee at all times (climbing, hunting, descending) its not a problem. But the Razor SD ( http://www.summitstands.com/summit-razor-sd-climbing-treestand-mossy-oakr-camo) will most likely be my next one. You can sit and climb, then move bar out of way during the hunt. I'm getting lazy and want to sit and climb and stop having to use my arms and abs to climb. That is the only draw back to an open front, but it is good exercise...

For around the house I use sinlge ladders. For WMAs and public land I used to use and API grand slam but switched to a Summit Goliath last year. Both the API and Summit feel very safe, secure and comfortable.

I`m not a large person (in my opinion) and I am pretty damn coordinated but that thing is as big as a Christmas tree ornament

Summit Goliath and Titan. Love having plenty of room. I don't walk around with one one my back much. I usually hang it and leave it. Then I stalk back and hunt out of it a day or two later.
