If you kill something small, you feel like you should have let it walk. If you kill something big, the club/landowner is secretly resentful. There is nothing more rewarding than killing a buck on your own place/lease, or on public land. As for paid hunts I have never been on a paid hunt, and I doubt I ever will. I don't think anything less of people who do, but to me hunting is the thrill of the unknown, where killing a big buck is not only uncertain, but is highly unlikely. Paying money to take that uncertainty out of the equation makes it no longer hunting from my perspective.
I can't really explain why I feel this way but this is exactly the way I feel also.
