That's a performance based contract, not a covenant. God doesn't make contracts.


Thank God His grace is not conditional. Grace is not dependent on obedience. Obedience is the result of faith.

Matt hit the nail on the head. Bamaalum95 please read Galations 2:11-21 It was this exact same preaching of grace+ works that caused Paul to get sideways with Peter (Cephas). He says in verse 21 that if salvation comes from keeping Gods commandments (Law) then Christ died needlessly. I agree with Matt that it's our desire after salvation to be obedient to Christ because of our love and devotion to Him for what He has done for us, not the other way around. If following God's Word could get us into heavan then Christ died in vain. The reason for the Law was to show us our need for Christ.
