Going to let the wind decide if I'm setting up my climber up by a watering hole or off of a grown up corn field.

Blindfold me and take me with you! Sounds like an awesome spot, good luck!
I'll be in an oak flat next too some some select cut pines and a hayfield. I've got a good buck on camera and hoping he will slip up.

I'm gonna check cams Tuesday and decide. I'll probably be on a hardwood ridge that morning and probably hit a field that evening. Just waiting on the cams to tell me which one.

Ladder stand set up on a hardwood ridge with a 50 yard strip of four wheeler trail planted. I too will be at wheeler the next morning. South east corner. Hoping to get my first with a bow!

Working at my desk.

Now for the 25th!
I'll sitting here, over dropping acorns next to a thicket on a creek.

Hardwood ridge about 50 yards off a head-high cutover. All the acorns are brown and dropping, there is "some" poop in there, but not a ton that I see, but then again they aren't concentrated under any single tree either. I tried to sneak in there for one second this morning to check the camera, walked right up on 3 bucks feeding. They never knew I was in the world, after about 20 mins they got over a little rise and I low walked out of there. Didn't get to check my camera, but I don't reckon I needed to! LOL

Just hung a stand with 3 whiteoaks dropping around it. Only whiteoaks I've found dropping on this property. Ground was torn up. I was sitting there leaning back against my linemans belt and here come 3 does right up under me eating acorns.

Do yall really already have your hunt planned out for opening day???
I mean I know where I'd like to be on opening morning, and I've got the pictures of the buck that I'm planning to kill but until I see which way the wind is blowing I have no idea. I've got 3 spots that will be productive and as long as there isn't an east wind I will be good to go but if by chance there is an east wind I want bother even going.

Well I'm looking at the 5 day forecast, and more times than not it's correct on wind direction. Even if not, where I'm going the only wind I can't hunt is straight E, maybe SE too (but I'd chance it even with a SE wind). I guarantee you a NE wind in Central, AL on Thurs morning. Probably light and variable though! LOL

Make a final decision come Wednesday after I check wind. double check it Thursday morning. Will be on hardwood ridge on edge of very thick head high cute over. Got a stand on both sides of cut. Will post pics come Thursday.

For sure, just fortunately for me this place I plan on hunting can be safely hunted with so many winds that there's probably a 5% chance I wouldn't go in there.

If it's light and variable I'll usually go to a doe stand and stay away from my #1 spot. #1 being where I've seen big boy on camera, if I've seen one on camera! I like a decent wind for one thing the leaves are moving in the trees and deer pay little attention to the slightest movement and a decent wind usually doesn't change directions as much.
I've always wondered why you hear another hunter say he wasn't going out because the wind is blowing 10-15mph
