Thwack!.....Stuck me a nanner! Ain't been sitting here 30 minutes I was just about to tell you I liked the look of that spot! Reminds me VERY MUCH of a place I used to hunt in Chambers Co...it was a food plot like that surrounded by privet hedge and water oaks. This one biggest water oak had acorns every year, and I killed a bajillion deer under that sucker. That's a cool picture, it truly looks so similar to my old place. We called it "the pecan field" because it was apparently an old pecan orchard umpteen many years ago.

We were on the edge of Eternia, when the power of Greyskull began to take hold.

Just rolled a buck! Hunting about 5 miles North of the Gulf of Mexico near Grayton Beach, Fl. When I lived there I saw tons of deer out that way but never saw any that had any size on them. Congrats on the buck!

You can't see them in the pic but there are over a dozen huge water oaks that size around me.

I ain't leaving, but it pisses me off. I spend too much money on this crap for dang dogs to follow me around hunting. I've had them on every trail cam this week. I ain't gone shoot them, so don't hang me, but it sure pisses me off. Just thought of this one for you. Think you could feed them up at your house and put them in a pen, then go hunting. Give them a good bowl of food with a sedative in it. Might piss them off, just tell them it beats the heck out of what else could happen!

Congrats CNC. Looks like you will get to track one. Thanks! Hell I'm as excited as a first timer this morning. Just walked back up to the house. I’m going to give her about an hour and then put Otis on her track. I think I heard her crash not far but I don’t want to take a chance on jumping her where I’m hunting…..lots of hairy places she could go. There’s a beaver swamp just a little over 100 yards from my stand off the back end of that greenfield you see. Sho nuff don’t want her to go in there.

CNC is in Macon county and has been looking for tracking jobs. I'm talking to him. I told him to try Art first since its in his back door. I've talked to Art on the phone and he seems like a good guy. He offered to send tracks my way when he was busy so I don't want to bail off tracking in his area without giving him the first dibs on it. It is a little ways from me.

Congrats on the buck! Thanks! You're observations were very correct. The deer do not get nearly as big as your average Alabama deer. But you'd be surprised what they turn in to when they get some age on them. This one is not going to get that chance! You can be young and dumb, but you can't be both for long!
"The kill is the satisfying, indeed essential, conclusion to a successful hunt. But, I take no pleasure in the act itself. One does not hunt in order to kill, but kills in order to have hunted. - Finn Aagard

Helluva shot right there! Nice work!
