Evidently Edgewood Academy in Elmore county has tied the longest winning streak (or now has it) in the nation. 60 wins in a row? Hmmmmmmm...

Opelika hammered Daphne. 51-0 I see a collision course with Spanish Fort coming. The winner should be the favorite to win it all.

Dr. B Yep, my daughter goes to CPS and they get to drive up there to play Edgewood. Or, as many in AISA call them, the University of Edgewood LOL. We won't make the drive Friday night, playing soctball on Saturday.

Opelika is in a different league than SF. I think Ben Russell and SF would be a pretty even matchup. Not taking anything from SF, but they aren't as near as good as some of the top tier teams that they are gonna meet up with as they advance. SF may be better than they played against PC. Dealing with the distraction form their running back being probably didn't help them.

Opelikas defense is super fast and will smash you in the face and offense is very explosive. But it's one game at a time and we've got to play a repeat team and sometimes those are the hardest to get up for and win. Hopefully we'll see SF down the road though. How has Jake been playing? I havent had a chance to go to a Opelika game my dad grew up with the Blackmons and i would love to see them play eachother. But i think Opelika is a little stronger. That game would be a nail biter.

He's has played extremely well all year. A pleasant surprise was Josh last Friday, probably had the his best game of the year. Both are very good high school players. But I will say this about Jake, I have never been witness to a better high school qb. I have watched the Bulldogs my entire life and have never seen one do what he does on the field.

Headed to McAdory this evening for some good HS football. Pulling for Ben Russell! Should be a great match-up.

oakachoy, that should be a good game. McAdory seems to have recovered from their loss to Pinson earlier in the year. At least the weather's right for football.

BB, I've been to a band competition there. If memory serves correct, the visitor's side is concrete (as is the home side). Seems like it was pretty fair size as I remember 3 or 4 of the bands sitting over there when they were not performing. Concrete may be a little cool this evening.

Clay-Chalkville survived, barely. Beat Homewood 40-39.
