Okay, Let's hear it. I am tired of spending $100-$200 for something that doesn't last. Most trail cams that I've had seem to only last a couple of years at most. Moultries and Brownings have crapped out after a year or two. I have a Stealthcam that takes outstanding pictures and is very easy to operate but I have only had it a year so I can't judge its reliability. Any suggestions?

I use covert cameras, and have for a few years. Never had a problem with them.

The browning strike force is hard to beat,it,s extremely tiny and takes chrystal clear pictures to 100 feet.I have had alot of moultrees every one of them went bad in less than a year.the browning ,is my first one.I have had several stealths they rnded up going bad ,but there better than moultree.cuddie back is a good camera I had 2 ,but they got stolen.nothing ticks me off more than put my camreas out, wait acouple weeks and to go back and they woulndnt working right. The Browning Strike Force is the one that only lasted a year. And it was the replacement camera that was given to me after the first Browning died. I drove all the way to 280 to pick it up at their distribution office. I have a cheaper Browning BTC-3 that is on its third year of use so Browning has been a mixed bag.

DO NOT BUY MOULTRIE!
The first 2 M-880s I had lasted one season and then the light sensors that controls the IR went bad. Bought 3 more of the new model, still M-880, thinking maybe they addressed those issues but this season just started and all 3 have issues.

I agree with most of what's been said.
Obviously most of us aren't going to spring the $$$ for a Reconex ... But ... is there anyone out there who's bought one or more who feels they can almost make an economic case for it? In other words it cost approx 3x-4x the price of conventional, but perhaps it lasts that multiple longer (?). Or the savings in gas money going to check a dead camera are avoided.
Of course the flip side is covering more lease area with the same money spent on a conventional camera. Just wondering what actual user perception is from "normal" hunters and not those buying cameras as luxury items . Never thought about it that way but in reality the Moultrie's are disposable cameras.

I guess I've been fortunate. All 4 of my Moultries are still working fine. I have 2 of the big black ones (7-8 yrs old) one uses D batteries and the other the big block battery. I have an A5 that uses C batteries that 's still working fine. It's about 5 years old. My newest one is an 880IR. It's going on it's 2nd year. All of them work fine. Having said that, I'm sure when I go check next week they will have quit working. The Aldeer voodoo curse.
