Don't be knockin'a powerstroke. No need. They'll start knocking on their own. 7.3 is the Second best engine that has been mentioned in this thread compared to a 5.9 cummins..

Unless you really need a diesel truck, don't buy one. I'm a ford guy but you better be ready for some out of pocket expenses plus the payments with either. I'm on my second diesel with zero out of pocket expenses other than normal oil changes. People saying they don't want a diesel because gas is better must be the same people in the thread saying they prefer cheap binoculars because expensive ones aren't any better. I make a living pull wrenches on diesels. Count your blessings. Oh and all my tools are American made.

Had a 2012 Cummins that I put 130k on and just traded in for a 2015 through all the dodge recall buy back stuff

Most any of the worst in people's eyes will be zero out of pocket for 130k. Op is looking at used trucks with 100k or more.

Theres a shop that only works on Ford deisels down the street. He is always over booked and has a waiting line. He loves Ford, but he drives a Dodge Cummins.

To be completely honest I wouldn't buy either. I drive a 07 with 6.0

Duramax. I bought one new in '03. Just rolled 204,000 miles. I got 18+ mpg with oversized tires on a recent trip.
