E 600 yards plenty at 350 yards .on the 600 yard shot I couldn't beleive it mysef.I would have not even taken that shot,but my 10 year old daughter was with me.it was the first deer she had ever saw while hunting with me.2 does stepped out on a green feild ihad ona power line.we were hunting a different green feild on the same powerline you could see both. I was shooting a 7 mag ,my daughter said daddy shoot it,I told her it was way to far.but she kept on so I put the deer in the scope dead on her shoulder and squeezed the trigger I couldnt believe my eyes the deer dropped in her tracks.it was so far we had to get in the truck and circle about a quater of mile to get to her.I dint hit her in the shoulder but did hit her neck .I tried that shot a couple more times that year but missed. It was a one in a million shot but my daughter was going crazy.shs still has a rock the deer bled on in her bedroom. I'm not calling you a liar. But, there is no way you held on the shoulder and hit a deer at 600 yards. At that distance you are going to be about 40-45 inches low. if you make a REALLY bad shot and wobble waaaaay off ya can.......
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Kind of ashamed to admit this but in my younger days I was helping a dude look for a buck he had shot and lost in a cutover the night before. We jumped another buck in the cutover and he shot at it twice. He wanted me to shoot at it and I just threw my rifle to my shoulder off handed and got way out in front of him and high as he was running off and squeezed off. The deer dropped.
We ranged it with a rangefinder a little while after that and it was 600+ yards. It was stupid blind luck and I had no business shooting at that deer and neither did the guy who was with me.
I've killed several out to 300 with my 7 mag.

Both were does: 462 yds .257 Wby, and 528 yds 300 Wby.
The one I remember most was head shot doe @ 174 yds with 300 Wby.
May we all die in bed at 95, shot by a jealous spouse

800 yards on a doe with a 106 mm recoiless rifle. I was running the 106 mm range at Camp AP Hill in VA back in the early 1970's. She stepped out right next to an APC hull we'd already hit a couple of times. Not much left to her, since a 106 mm HEAT round will go through 21" of steel.

Hold on there lead foot, Ol' Talltines may be such a bad shot , it was one in a million with a scope with target turrets.

I would say you could not just hold on the shoulder at that distance unless your gun was already off, that would be impossible unless you jerked really bad when you pulled the trigger .

I would say he would have to be a piss poor shot to aim at a deer at 600yds with no holdover or scope adjustment and hit the thing. Anyone who know ballistics knows he was wobbling like a dog crapping peach seeds. the end

Shade over 500 yards with a Winchester in 300 mag. Shooting house in a clear cut. My wife was with me and couldn't even see the doe. She didn't believe that I actually shot a deer until we finally got the atv to it.
What you do today, you have to sleep with tonight.

340 yards with my daughter's red ryder bb gun. Open sights with a hand polished bb. Shooting into a 5-10mph wind. 1 shot 1 kill. Amateurs...
