Don't get why they made this such a long process. Wonder if they reached out to potential coaches and were told "No Thanks"?

Yup, It's all seemed very unprofessional. Of course, College football may be as cutthroat as it's ever been now.

I like Les, I think he's a good person, good coach and good for the game.

That being said I think Whoville just signed up for another couple of years of mediocrity. Than fan base is seriously fractured and the pressure next year will be immense. The slightest misstep will set that powder keg off and there will be corndog parts strewn as far as the eye can see.

Be insane to fire him. Won a championship in 2007. Made it again in 2011 with one of the best college team ever and got beat by probably the best team in college history. Consistent around 10 win seasons and has no quarterback to work with. I think he should stay.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.

LSU handled the whole fiasco poorly.
I thought Les did a great job with the crap shoveled on him.

God Bless,

LSU thought they had an agreement with Jimbo and when he surprised everybody and said he was staying at FSU it left the LSU people with no where to go.

They just let Auburn off the hook for the poorest handling of a behind the scenes attempt to run off a coach and hitter his replacement before they fire him.

There are a lot of coaches that struggle without a dominant quarterback: Gus Malzahn is 6-6 without one, Kevin Sumlin, Jimbo Fisher, etc... When each of those had a world beater at QB everyone thought they were football geniuses, not so much now. Kind of makes you wonder if Mike Shula had gotten Tim Tebow...

A great quarterback can make an average coach look like a world beater. Then you have coaches that can take just about anyone that doesn't make a bunch of stupid mistakes, plug them in there and win championships. Reference Alabama last year using a running back as a quarterback, or this year using a perennial 2nd stringer as a starter.

I actually think Miles is almost there. If he has just a decent quarterback and a another great running back he can win another championship. He just needs a piece or two of the puzzle and he's got it. He knows how to build a solid team year after year, something a lot of other coaches can't seem to do.

Jimbo Fisher is going thru a nasty divorce right now. He has young kids and I think he figured out that he needed to stay in Tallahassee until it was resolved. Otherwise he would be headed to LSU.
