My son has been shooting a Rem 11-87 with a Tru-glo ssx choke, Federal heavyweight 7's. He killed three birds with it the first year I put it in his hand. All three were ranged between 50 and 56 yds.
He is a small framed kid and the recoil is nothing. The same set up with a Rem 870 can pack a punch on a youg un. That's why I went auot.
