When I got out of the stand and went to unload my rifle, I realized I never even chambered a round when I got in the stand. And just to add more proof that it was a rookie kind of day. I missed a 3 year old 3 point this morning. TWICE!!!!! Rookie??? today I was!

Here's my take on this:
This is a real good time to royally screw up a good spot. Stankin up the woods isn't high on my list of priorities. I prefer the sneak in and sneak out approach and that ain't happening in this weather.

I prefer the sneak in and sneak out approach and that ain't happening in this weather. You are overthinking this. I got stuck in a mud hole and had to get the tractor to pull me out. Went ahead and worked on the road for a while too. That was this morning after my hunt. The mud hole is 100 yards from my stand. I'm sitting here now watching deer. And jumped another coming in. Don't give these deer too much credit. Oh, I can still see my tractor from my stand. It is about 75 yards max.
