this is the reason dog hunting only has a few more years, thank goodness!!

Yep. Attitudes like this will do it in. The thing is that dumbasses that think a human life is worth taking over an animal is a scary thought.

Yep no doubt. I'll be glad when it's done in. Maybe the bigguns will start to move more, what really pi**es me off is when you have set in your stand most of the day and then some sumbich from another club rides in on top of you looking for his dogs he lost, thats worse than the dog crossing in front of you. Then when you confront him he simply states I was just looking for my dogs.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Brandonclark thank that's so true they ain't and I'm so sick of people say its on my property and running my deer haha anyone who has ever dog hunted knows that usually the dogs jump a deer where you turn them loose at they are just trailing the deer that goes to your land. I could see if I just went and dropped the tailgate on someone's land but no that did not happen. But no people think there running my deer off hahahaha

It don't matter that you started on your land. The moment it crossed the property line you were in the wrong. It's your job to stop them not the dogs job to stop. Your the boss and you're the one causing the problem. Until people like you realize and understand that. We dog hunters have a tough row to hoe.

You seem to be one of the good ones! Thanks for being a responsible dog hunter. Dog hunting is a ball of fun if done correctly. Lots of days I wish I could turn a dog or two loose

I'm so sick of being lumped in with Dog hunters that either don't care or are just lazy. You can pull any dog out of my truck you want. Put it on a deer. They'll leave on it trying to catch it. They'll run it 8 hours if they can but they'll stop the second I want them too. My foxdogs will run all night but the moment they hear a truck horn or the tone of the shock collar it's over. I've heard that they'll mess up a dog. I don't believe it none. I've seen fox/coyote field trail champions that sold for more than a truck cost stop on a dime when they were told to. These dogs run 5 hours a day for 3 days in a row just as hard as they can. They are the fastest, Gamest of the best. But they are trained to handle. That's the key. I've own rabbit dogs I could call out of a race. I got a old squirrel dog that's trained so well I can do hand signals just like a lab. If for some reason you get one that ain't trainable. That's why they make .22LR

I've never killed anyone's dog and wouldn't unless forced to. It's an attitude like yours though that causes all the problems.

If a land owner could catch someone's dog,let them know that their dog was trespassing and have the owner apologize and do everything possible so that dog wouldn't trespass again, then there wouldn't be any problems ever. Instead the land owner is told by some hick that dogs can't read signs and that he better not do anything to the man's dog if he knows what's good for him.

Thank you for not being one of the "Dogs can't read signs" hunters. Some of the best hunts I was ever on were dog hunts. I Wish there were more like you so dog hunting would be as prevalent as it once was.

So you have friends that have killed someone for shooting their dog? The exaggerations get better every year on this site.

My buddy's chocolate lab got shot Saturday morning. He found him dead in a neighbors yard 2 blocks from home. Earlier He went to load him in truck to go hunting but the horny dog took off. Came back from hunting and his dog was dead.

With that said I still cant understand any hunter WHINING about dogs. Coyotes hunt 24 / 7.

The worst part is that it's the people making the frat boy/ gut pile comments that are going to ruin it for the guys that do it correctly. if you don't respect your neighbor's property rights, you won't have to worry about keeping your deer dogs on your property much longer.

I hate any dog to get shot. I could see if it was after my daughters cats or after my livestock. Not just in the woods. I'm a dog Hunter. Just about anything that can be chased by a dog , I'm game. I'm 49 and have been doing it since 1976. I can't hardly stand to sit in a dang tree. But, I understand the frustration of dogs running across other people's places. I love to take kids hunting. Dog hunting is a real low percentage kill. My kids, my nieces, nephews and neighborhood kids have all killed their first still hunting. I can still remember the smallest details when my daughters both killed their first. I can also imagine how pissed I'd be if a lazy ass dog Hunter took that from me and them.

Maybe if you read this again you will understand.

You are incorrect Brandon, I've killed a tractor trailer load of deer in front of dogs. My dad was a deer dogger back in the 70's and 80's so I grew up around it. I know the adrenaline rush when you hear those beagles burning one up and you can hear it tearing the woods up coming to you. I don't hate or dislike any man who dog hunts, and I firmly believe in their right to dog hunt on their property. Notice I said "their property". The thing you need to understand Brandon is there's a right way to do thngs and a wrong way. There are dog clubs out there that do it right (Stony's club), but the ones that do it wrong far outnumber the ones that are doing right. Stalk hunting clubs far outnumber dog clubs and if the flippant attitude on the part of some dog hunter continues I hate to say it, but that right is going to be taken away sooner rather than later. I hate to see it, especially for the clubs that do it right.

I will go ahead and predict the rest of this thread.

1. Stalk hunters will say they don't want dogs running deer on their lease.

2. Dog supporters will counter with:
a. Dogs don't know property lines.
b. It helps you by running deer by you.
c. If you don't like it put up a fence.
d. Well coyotes are running deer too.
e. Better not mess with my dog or I will kill you.

Already heard some of it already.
