We have but that's the thing most people don't realizes. You can turn the collar on and off. If they made it where the collar could not be turned off it would work. We are having people steal the collars to sorry So your saying folks are coming onto yalls lease and stealing the coolers off the dogs?

Some dog hunters give the sport a bad name. These guys are outlaws. They turn loose on one side of a tract they don't have access to and stand the other. Run rampant on private property in search of their dogs. When asked "why do you need a gun?". The answer is always that you have to kill the deer to stop the dogs. I live in a county where the outlaws were so bad that dog hunting is now illegal. The message is fairly clear. Police your own ranks or the sport disappears.
Frustration causes some to retaliate. Shooting a dog is against the law also. IMHO both groups are outlaws. Just as guilty as spot lighters or those that shoot over the limit.
It was my pleasure to be in a dog club that did it right so I understand the enjoyment. The outlaws give both groups a bad name & give the antis ammunition. This is one of the best responses on here.

Not really. Your comparing someone who shoots a tresspassing dog to a night hunting poacher? Sure you can say both are illegal, BUT a tresspassing dog comes to your place, with no fault of your own. Where a night hunting poacher goes out a looks for illegal pray to shoot. The 1 that shoots a tresspassing dog should get a medal and the night hunting poacher should get jail!

BC nope Im a still hunting landowner and one of those biologist dudes. I have neighbor dogs on my property all the time. I have watched MANY MANY times deer feeding 70 yards away from dogs. I have watched deer being run by a dog as other deer just bed down for a moment till the dog passes and then get back up 30 seconds later after a dog passes and start feeding again. Copy..... good to know. That's not the point though. Those hunters don't want them there for any reason whatsoever. They don't care if it runs a booner by them every single time. They don't care if the deer doesn't pay them attention...... they just simply don't want them there. I saw a 6 point come into a field last year two minutes after 6 house dogs came across the field making all kind of racket. FWIW.... I've killed bucks being pushed by dogs across my property in Chambers Co. I've killed bucks backtrailing dogs that ran a doe by me 15 minutes earlier. Despite that if I was sitting in a nice hardwood bottom relaxed and just enjoying Gods creation I don't want dogs running by me. I don't care how many deer they are pushing. I bet if a hunter killed a booner in front of a dog every time they went then that hunter would become a dog hunter!!!

This man was charged with a felony and other charges for shooting dogs..Hard to buy a gun as a convicted felon!!
uthorities say a military police officer has been charged with the killing of two hunting dogs.
Jones County officials say Corporal Jeremy Edge of Jacksonville was taken into custody Monday on two counts of felony cruelty to animals, two counts of misdemeanor larceny, two counts of misdemeanor injury to personal property, and two counts of misdemeanor removal of a electronic tracking collar.

Before I even start I know I'm gonna get some bad comments on this but I don't care its my opinion and maybe it will get the word out. But this world and what so hunting world it getting ridiculous. Especially for a dog hunter. I'm in a big club and we have a lot of land and try our hardest to catch them before they get on someone else's but sometimes that is not enough. I have been missing a dog for a week and half after driving all over the place looking I finally found my dog Laying in a ditch were people dumb trash at shot. The collar was taken off and threw who knows where. How could someone who has a heart do something like this its cruel and low down. Not only that we have had dogs some how end up in town up to 20 or 30 miles or more away from where we hunt and there is no way a beagle got that far in a couple of hours some with collars still on some or off so they are getting a little help somewhere some how. So I hope one way or another we are gonna find out who and they are gonna pay yes the game warden knows we have made reports just got to have some prove and catch this person in the act. My rant is over but this is sorry Was your dog on someone else's property ? You are responsible for controlling your dog. If your dog bites someone, who is held liable, you or the dog ? If your dog runs out in the road a causes an accident or wreck, who is responsible ? The dog cannot read or respect property of any kind. Who can ? YOU. If you cannot control the dog, and keep it where it is suppose to be and AWAY from where it is NOT suppose to be, then it is your fault. If someone came onto YOUR property and killed the dog then they need their butt prosecuted. If YOU allow the dog to stray away from the location it is suppose to be, it is YOUR fault. The dog doesn't know the rules ,YOU do. I truly hate that the dog was killed, but if you want to know who is responsible, LOOK IN THE MIRROR first. If you are not willing to risk YOUR dog's safety then it is up to YOU to avoid ALL the risk involved. That is if you are truly concerned about YOUR dog ? YOU are the one that decides to, "drop the gate" knowing that there are many opportunities for YOUR dog to get injured by putting it into a race. To answer the next question, yes, I do have six dogs. Again, SORRY for YOUR dog.

Ok folks, I'm gonna go tend to some household things for a bit. Ya'll got 15 minutes to complain before I close the thread.
The way I see it is simple. You lost control of your dog and it went somewhere out of your control which is your fault and somebody killed it. Keep up with your dogs and that would not happen.

You are right from a legal standpoint, but something much more important is missing here, respect for your fellow man. Yes the dog shooter is also not respecting the other guy either, but when someone gets slapped in the face, it's natural for them to slap back. This guy got slapped and is now crying about it.
