I want to build a 100 yard range for rifles and pistol and plan on have a large mound of dirt to catch rounds. Anybody have any in sight on construction? I planned on having fill dirt dumped but didn't know how to construct.

Build a backstop made of RR ties to the desired height, with walls both sides, then backfill with dirt

Easy way is to pyramid tires. You can get em for free at any tire store. Saves them from having to dispose of them.

Start with tires 6 rows deep whatever width ya want berm. Fill with dirt, next row 5 deep and fill with dirt. Repeat till down to 1 row deep and covered.

Saves ya from buying RR ties and also uses a lot less dirt if your having it hauled in.

I have also toyed with the idea of building a range. I found a few videos on youtube that seemed helpful.
