I've only shot about 5 deer with them so my results are skewed but I did have one less than optimal experience. I shot a buck last year at about 80 yards, perfectly broadside, and double lunged him. I watched him run about 60 yds out of the clearcut and really was second guessing the shot on whether I hit him by how he acted. It was a fresh clear cut so I walked to the exact spot where the shot occurred. Found his tracks where he took off and if it wasn't for being able to follow his tracks, it would have made finding him a lot more difficult. I walked his track for the 60 yds he made it to the edge of the cut and walked about 15 yds into the edge of the woods and he was laying right there. Perfect doubled lung shot. There was not a speck of blood in his tracks anywhere along the way. I even went back and looked after I got him loaded up to make sure I didn't miss it. The entrance and exit holes were both about the same size, roughly a little larger than the initial size of the bullet.
The end result was a dead deer within 75 yds of the shot so theres not too much to complain about. However, Im typically used to a pretty good blood trail with a doubled lunged, rifle shot deer. If I hadn't have been able to see him run the majority of the way he ran and where he entered the woods, as well as being able to follow his track, it would have made for longer than necessary recovery. This is the only buck I've shot with the core-lokts, 3 does were DRT with shoulder shots and one doe was double lunged with a good blood trail. I don't know what happened on the buck but I hope it doesn't happen again. Caliber was a 270 WSM.
