It all started when I moved home from MS. I started running cameras on the farm I grew up on. The first two bucks to show were a long beamed 8 and a 3 yr old busted 10. I hunted the 8 but never saw him and never did get a pic of him in latter years. I posted the pic on here and someone said man that busted 10 is gonna be something. Well they were right. [img:center]
[/ Well he showed back up as a four year old and was a giant. I hunted my butt off trying to kill him. I passed up tons of deer. I passed good deer trying to kill him. Didn't even kill a buck that year. He was a true giant. [img:center][/img]
Well the next year he didn't show up. Couldn't get a picture of him for nothing. I was discouraged but figured he was dead or just left my place. Well I hung a cam at a new spot trying to get pics of deer to kill with my longbow. I checked the cam Christmas Day and boom, there he was. Daytime pic Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I started in hunting him again but never got a chance. I had him pretty well figured out though and felt like I had a good chance the next year. [img:center][/img]
Well now I'm at this year. Started running cameras figuring he would be all over them. Nothing. No velvet pics no nothing. I figured he died. That's when I got on the big one I shot in bow season. Well after I shot that one I went to check the cam in hope he was still alive and boom, there he is again. I had named him Rooster because I always got pics of him in a field by my chicken house. Well the quest began. I had a lot of pics of him but just couldn't see him. Three weeks ago he disappeared. A buddy of mine saw him running a doe across the river on our club. I figured he would screw up and get shot over there. Well last week he showed back up and I got two pics of him. Yesterday I hunted a spot I haven't hunted in two years and saw 6 deer yesterday morning and 18 yesterday evening and I just knew he had to be crossing there. Well I went back this morning and bam there he was, first deer that walked out. 210 yards and I settled and squeezed it off. Couldn't find a drop blood. Well me and my buddy started walking and I heard him holler and say it's Rooster. I sprinted through the cutover, hollering, crying, jumping. It was amazing. Best day of hunting in my life.
