Thanks! I pulled my land line yesterday and my water line was empty today.
Time to clean up the steel traps and get them ready to go again.

Congrats Jon! I always feel better catching the females. One less puppy machine out there breeding.
I didn't have anything today but saw another otter swimming in the lake so I'm not done yet. Made a couple adjustments this morning and I'm going move a couple sets tomorrow into a channel I found today so with any luck I'll be done in another night or 2!

Jon that trap must've slammed down on something mighty hard to bend like that. Lol! An old beaver with a tough skull maybe.

Yes sir I have caught a pile of beaver with these old traps. I've sure got my money's worth out of them.

Well the otter survived another night. I moved 3 more snares into open water today and hung them in the area we saw him at yesterday and moved 2 conibears into a new ditch we found coming into the lake.
This lake is just over 50 acres with 3 major water sheds draining into it. It's been a challenge to say the least.

Today just feels strange! I don't have a single trap out. I did go pick up 2 dozen double longs that I had welded up this week this morning. I guess I'll be dying and waxing tomorrow if the rain stops.
Still got 4 beaver jobs to do in January and plenty of coyotes that need catching.

I had a coyote dead in the trap Tuesday. I feel like dogs killed him but I reckon it could have been the alpha male. I've had dead fox before but this was a first for me with a coyote dead. I'm gonna reset tomorrow and maybe I'll catch the culprit. I sprung them all Tuesday because of the rain.

I've never had a dead animal in a land set. Weird!
I wanted to make some water sets this afternoon but both ponds are flooded so we decided to wait another week on them.

I hear ya DW! I've got my Sleepy Creek's ready for the dye and wax. If they are as good as I'm set on I'll have a couple dozen other brand traps up for sale here shortly so I can replace them with the upgrades.

I've had rabbits, fox, coons, possums, and now a coyote dead in the trap. I know coyotes will kill fox in a trap but I figure it was dogs that killed the coyote. Hank was you the one that caught the coyote across from where a turkey got in your trap? I remember seeing the pictures but don't remember where or who it was.
