Don't think I have ever clapped, but I have thrown rocks and sticks into thickets while slipping. Jumped and killed alot of deer that way in the past.

take a gallon milk jug, put some rocks in it and shake it as you walk the clear cut. That's how we did it back in the day. The jug shaker was commonly called the deer dog. (absent a real dog)
The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

A tip Perrycounty added in the LFTT yesterday. He's catching hell over it, but sounds like a dang good killing technique to me. I'm gonna' try it out. It can't hurt. Well, I guess it will mess up the hunting around you for a little while but I may try it on my walk in.

I use to use a sling shot to shoot rocks into clearcut. That used to get them up and moving too.

A few pennies in a milk jug or two liter bottle works, but I like to slip and throw rocks or chunks of wood. I don't like to be too loud.

i like throwing firecrackers or shooting bottle rockets over the thick stuff and they will run toward you. Good way to start a fire. We'd lose lease if caught.

Are y'all hunting public land and doing this? Because why would you want to disturb their bedding area? To me on private land or lease it would just make them that more unpredictable and the added stress would make them that much more jittery. Just curious.
