I have killed plenty in Dallas county. Only put 2 of em on the scales. One was 209 and the other was 217. My father has killed two of em that we wish we had put on the scales. They had to be over 250lbs. One was so heavy and fat we put the 4wheeler in a ditch and rolled him onto the front of it.....then he flipped the four wheeler over. That deer didnt have 100" of antler either. Another deer killed off of the same property in orrville scored 137 and weighed 176.

Pretty common where we hunt in Dallas Co around all of the ag fields that are still planted in the area.
We had a 205, 227 killed last year. A 205, 218 killed so far this year. Three years ago there was a hoss 260lb 8pt killed in a 460 acre bean, peanut and milo ag area.
ROLL TIDE !!!

I think I have only seen one 200 lb deer killed by someone else on a club in Wilcox Co. in the 90s. Big 9 point. Really big. His rack was nice but his body made the rack look kind of smallish.
I've killed two 120"+ bucks that went 175 and 185 in Eastern Jefferson and Western St. Clair Co.
Most of mine were on public land with no access to ag crops but the two big 8 points were on family land where they had corn except for deer season.

I hunt on a military base, and most of the 4-6 year old deer we kill will field dress 120# to 140#. Don't know what that equates to in "live weight". Seriously, we'll kill deer with 140" racks, big Roman noses and gray muzzles, globs of fat inside the cavity, and yet they'll only weigh 130lbs field dressed. I killed one on this place two years ago that field dressed 170, and that's about the biggest one I've ever seen. I killed another one on a neighboring property (nothing but a fence separates this land from the military land) in the early 90's that was 177lbs dressed on digital scales.
Killed two on Cheaha Mountain in the early 90's that were 200lbs field dressed, but that was on old spring-type scales.
Crap, I killed a 4.5 year old 8pt on Choccolocco WMA a few years ago that only weighed 98lbs dressed. True story. Their biologist weighed him, and there were several witnesses. Bux, I started hunting Pelham, in 77. Never hunted with my cousin who was my senior by 5 years. I was impressed with his kills from Pelham. He hunted the early years when the herd was expanding. That's when the deer were big bodied. He must of caught the tail end of the good hunting. First decent kill on 15 OCT 79 was a 105 pound bow kill. Killed a 129 pound 8 point on 15 JAN 83, 12 gauge, 1100 unrifled barrel. My brother killed his biggest on Pelham on 9 JAN 83. Pelham was a good traditional management type area. Brothers deer weighed 132 I think. Last hunt there was 85.

I'm approaching 200 deer over 30+ years of deer hunting. I've only killed 3 deer that went over 200lbs. First was in Elmore county on the river at Coosada in the 1990's that weighed 175 field dressed at Taylor's processing in Montgomery. 2nd was in Lowndes county in 2008 and was the first buck I killed on my own land. He weighed 205 at Taylor's on the hoof. The 3rd one was the buck I killed this year on opening day. He weighed 210 on scales at the club.
I don't know the ages but they were mature deer I guess at least 4 years old. The first 2 had screwed up racks. The Elmore county buck had both sides of the racks broken off in velvet and both sides looked like upturned tree stumps only 4 inches high. The 1st Lowndes buck had a beautiful 4 point rack on one side but the other side had also been broken off in velvet and grew back all messed up. The buck I shot this year may go on a plaque but none were shoulder mount worthy.

I've killed several bucks over 200 lbs. We have weighed every buck we have killed since 1998 on our place, and our average weight on 4+ yr old bucks is 187 lbs. Most will weigh between 180 and 210. This year the three that have been killed were 241, 206, and 154. The 154 was a 4 or 5 yr old. He was just short. Very small mature buck. 200 lb mature bucks are not that uncommon anymore.
I've killed a 215, 212, 212, 210, 208, 206, 204, and 200 looking back through data. And quite a few more hovering just under that in the 190-198 range. All the deer that weighed that much were long and thick framed. You, got way big numbers, I'll excuse you from better memories. How do your spots compared to Black Warrior/Bankhead? Any of your deer come from public land? All of those deer are from the same private land in north AL. Bucks on Bankhead range from 145-220 lbs. I'd have to pull up the deer data to get averages.

I killed a buck Tuesday of this week that weighed 196lbs. He was 4-5 years old. They're out there for sure.

I shot a 3.5 y.o. 7pt Sat that weighed 190lbs, which really surprised me. I've only taken 2 buck in nearly 20 years of "serious" deer hunting in AL that have weighed over 200 lbs. I shot a 9 y.o. 9pt that I did not weigh, but estimate he weighed about 160-170 lbs; I call him PawPaw.

200lb bucks aren't uncommon in ag areas. I know peanuts puts some weight on them.

I have killed a good many here in SW Bama. They are not that rare.
However, I will agree that most 200 lbers were not put on scales.....just estimated. It does take a big, long deer to weigh 200+. Ive shot a number of bucks over 200 pounds here in bama. That big nine pointer I just shot this year weighed 216 pounds at the processors.
