I don't have a personal opinion on the question but I remembered an article that I read recently about this subject. I have told my wife and daughters to use wasp spray but the article made me re-think this.

The bottom line, in my professional opinion, is use wasp spray I that is what you've got, but if you are buying for self-defense purposes, get some good OC (pepper) spray. Anyone that has been sprayed (any LEO that carries it) will tell you it will, at minimum, distract almost anything that is attacking you to give you a chance to escape.

I would rather be tased again than sprayed. Heres why, when the taser turns off your good. Its the worst 5 seconds of your life butwhen it stops it just burns a little. Chemical spray suxs. It burns your eyes, mucus pours out your nose, and your throat feels like its closing up and thats just round 1. Round 2 is when you take a shower, you reactivate it and it runs down to your nuts and you spend the next hour with a cold wash cloth because you feel as if a midget is following you around holding a candle to you ball sack . But with chemical spray if you are around it enough or been sprayed a bunch you start to develop an immunity to it. It does not affect me near as bad as it use to. Now i just cough a little and blow snot rockets and im good.

Almost all OC spray is 2% oleoresin capsicum. They use to make it stronger but it was causing 2nd degree burns in the pores of the skin. I personally carry fox five point three at work and have never had anybody fight through it in 7 years. I also have some fox mean green that dies your skin green for 24 hours and contains the same oleoresin capsicum. Works goon at a bar or club fight.
