It sold to someone in 2013 that place is 4k contiguous acres. One of the largest private owned farms in the state. How nice would it be to own something like that.

That was my dream home. I was saddened to hear that someone bought it before I could. HA It was for sale with 4,000 acres for about $10 Million recently. The house is not an original plantation home, but was newly built to resemble one.

Looks familiar, is it just off HWY 43?

Just west of Hwy 28 right after you cross Millers Ferry bridge headed north. FINE place!!! I heard some Cubans bought it to run cattle on.

Did Mr Moore build that house or was it there when Mr Henderson (Bruce's dad) owned it?

Pretty sure it was after Mr Henderson had it.

My Dad was big buddies with Mr Jimmy. Used to field trial with him and Hunter McDuffy at Sedgefields a lot back in the day.

I asked my Dad once if he felt sorry for Mr JH losing that place. He said no, The Henderson's ancestors were carpetbaggers after the Civil War and came down here and took that place from the other white families that owned it.

Put things in a slightly different light to me.

If only that place could talk. We'd really know the truth about what happened that night on the night hunter encounter. And all the other stories that place harbors.

That was Mr. Bain Henderson, not Jimmy.

Cubans bought it.....most of the timber has been cut......lots of cattle; but never as many as were supposed to be there......fire right after cattle prices drop......

Been an odd chain of events.

15\16 years ago me , my brother, and son stayed in guess house and ate supper and breakfast as Mr Moore,s guest. Then went on horse ride around farm. at the time he had catfish ponds everywhere. He loved horses and had bird dogs at the time. Beautiful place sorry to see it burn.

Story I was told was that it was Mr Bain's wife, not Bain who shot the night Hunter. In front of his wife and kids. Story was he and Mr Bain were fighting, or about to. I think Bham Fred knows the real story but won't tell it. He's friends with a lot of those people.

While we're on the story subject, there was a man with a place close by whose wife tried to hire him killed. She was the heir to part of a very large fortune that her father allegedly spent quite a lot of her portion keeping her out of prison.

Like I said. If those trees could talk! Not to mention all the crops that place produced back in the day.
