You looking to buy something or just wanting conversation? Or both?
I'd buy Swarovski or Leupold if I needed any.

Meopta Meostar, Trijicon Accupoint and Bushnell 6500 are best in low light, under $1000. I like the accupoint because of the tritium illumination and low weight. The Meopta binos are excellent, too but I just bought some Vanguard Endeavor 8x42 ED binos for $249 that are pretty impressive, especially at that price.

Went to Safford Tire several years ago at dark and walked outside with a several pair of binoculars to see which one I liked most for the money. I chose the Steiner Military Marine 7x50 for looking long distances during low light conditions, cost around $600.As for scopes I've been using the same 8x56 Schmidt & Bender fixed power for 25 years because it was the only scope airlines could not knock off back then and I am hard on my gear,I have no idea what those things cost now. You got what IMO is the best scope for low light scope for hunting, open fields- the S&B 8X56 fixed power.

Do you really get that much more value from spending $1000 versus $500?

Some believe so, and some would argue vehemently not.

He said under $1000. Are you talking about the z3 1" tube? Those things are trash for what they cost

I bought a pair of Vortex Viper HD 12x50 binoculars from Europtic during their Black Friday sale. They are awesome! And well within your price range. I have been using them for over a month and love them. I have compared them to my 56mm S&B scope and they are just as good in lowlight. The S&B provides a little more crisp image, but it also cost about 4x as much as the binoculars.

He said under $1000. Are you talking about the z3 1" tube? Look for a used pair. They carry a lifetime warranty. I bought 10x42's from Mark's for around $800 several years ago. Just as good as brand new ones with the exception of a few minor scratches on the casing.

Some believe so, and some would argue vehemently not. A pair of $300 binos work perfect "MOST of the time". It's the first few minutes in the morning or last few minutes in the afternoon that make higher quality/ more expensive binos worth their cost. I'd be willing to bet I can see at least an extra 5 minutes with mine vs. a pair of cheaper binos and as we all know if a mature buck is going to move during the day it will "typically" be just as the sun starts to rise or set. I shot an 8 a few weeks ago at 6:20. I seriously doubt I would have been able to see him well enough to be able to make sure he was a shooter if I was using a pair of cheaper binos.

IMO it is hard to beat a pair of 10x50 Steiners and an 8x56 swarvo
