hunterturf OP 14 point H Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 8,907 bessemer, al	Yesterday I finally connected on a mature deer. I was watching fresh cutover bordered by mature pines. About the time the sun started to crest the trees I saw a doe come out into the cutover. I immediately started scanning the woods behind her and spotted a set of legs. After watching them for what seemed like an eternity he finally stepped out where I could see him. He was paralleling the doe but staying in cover. 225 yard shot and he was drt. The best part of this whole story was that I had my dad's rifle and it was my first kill with it. I told the guy I lease the land with I don't think I've ever aimed so hard in my life!!! I know dad was watching the hunt and thoroughly enjoyed the morning Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers.......... Si Robertson
