I've heard Mike's dog is amazing. If I had to decide between a young dog vs. one like Mikes....id go with Mike's.

Sorry if you've already answered this, but what's your range? Is NE Alabama in the northern part of Jackson Co. too far away? Don't need anything now, but sure needed a dog about two weeks ago. Apparenlty no one on our place can shoot so will likely need again. (one hit but couldn't find and two "misses" at 80 and 100 yds). Makes my head hurt.

Troubledouble, he travels state-wide. He has a "high motor" as they say in the ball games. One of a kind.

ok,im going to try to catch up with my alabama adventures.
first track we went on was in sylvania, track was around 20 hrs old, guys tracked it aways nite before, then ran out of blood lucy retracked where they had gone then, she took it around 300 yrds to a small river, the track ended at the bank, lucy tracked up the river around 100 yrds, then came back to were the track ended on the bank, then she tracked down the bank around 100 yrds.then she came back to were the track ebded on the bank again, then she swam across pretty swift water and I could tell by her actions that she was scenting the deer again.we had no way of getting across so I called her back across the water,,marked the spot on the gps we went back to the truck and drove back out to the highway, and found a bridge and found the closesr access to the spot I had marked,it was begind some guys house,as luck would have it,the hunter knew the guy,in fact the guy even let us use his ranger to get back down to the river,I put lucy back on the ground and went down to the river were I had marked, she got back on the deer and found it a few hundred yards down in some thick stuff.

I know you have told before, but what kind of dog is Lucy? Also, what kind of exercise program do you have in the off season for your dogs? Great service you are providing.

lucy is a texas blue lacy,in the off season I have them chase me while im riding my bike around 3 miles a day,and I swim them 2 or three times a week.I also do tracking exercises in the woods, once or twice a month for lucy,I make them really hard with lots of tricks thrown in to stump her and let them age over nite minimum 20 hrs,for the young dogs/pups I run training exercises more often but still overnite with minimum 18 hours old.I do some type of activity/training everyday..all year around.
