My Mama taught me that two wrongs don't make a right. Nowhere in this thread did I excuse free ranging dogs.

Btw I don't consider dog killers hunters.

Here's a solution but it isn't easy or convenient. Catch the dogs & cart them off to the animal shelter. You are legal and ethical.

However the dog killers really want validation for their poor decisions. Otherwise they would follow SSS & simply shut up.

Hunters don't lease land, plant plots and invest in hunting to shoot dogs. I have no desire to shoot a dog. I enjoy grilled backstrap. Never tasted dog ! When a dog owner doesn't care about the hunter he starts the cycle by not tending to HIS business.
The cycle will end when dog owners start tending their dogs. Hunters don't enter his property just to shoot a dog. Its just like a mans wife. If you don't want her getting the hungry Ethiopian treatment you don't let her hang out in bars alone at night !

How many people own a small huntable piece of property? And also own outside dogs that normally roam?

When you hunt your small tract, do you put your dogs up so you can hunt undisturbed or do you let them follow you to your stand? After all they don't hurt the hunt.

Since they don't hurt the hunt, do you take them with you to the club to accompany you to the stand to coral the deer to your stand location. They don't hurt the hunt. The only thing they do is HERD deer towards hunters. Right?

Wow. That says a LOT right there. YOU dont consider them hunters???

YOU decide who is a hunter or not??

Wow...pretty self important arent you.

They are hunters..out hunting...bothered by a dog or dogs.

But..they automatically ARENT hunters if they get pissed and shoot a dog.

Who the heck died and made you the KING?

Wait..I thought Obozo was the only king in this country.

Dont get me wrong..I dont shoot dogs but I can understand when people do or have to.

I know it can be frustrating to deal with. I've been there. But I never would shoot someone's hunting dog. My dad had a beagle when I was twelve that he used to blood trail. He was a dang good one to. He got away from me when I let him out to play and got shot. Barely grazed over his hind quarter and he pulled through. But at even at that age I was ready to kill whatever ssos shot him. That trophy club that borders my dads property took a hard hit on there deer population over the next 3 or four years. I made sure of that.

We have a group of 6-7 Old knarley looking wild dogs that's been chasing deer like crazy on our club and two boardering clubs combined at about 4000 acers. I haven't had close encounters with them but I did see them chasing one day at a distance through a thicket and have had em show up on camera all over the club, day and night. Big, ugly, vicious looking things. With out a doubt I wouldn't trust being around one unarmed. From the game cam pics it doesn't appear any have collars or ever been maintained.

The group of 6-7 at begining of season has dropped down to 2-3 now. I can only assume some responsible owner 3 yrs removed from the dog finally found those and locked em up. I'm really hoping the other 2-3 are taken care of REAL soon.
